Entry 1
Today we began work on the Tundra. The front doors are being covered in hushmat to make a better environment for the JL Audio ZR speakers. The rear doors will have JL Audio C2 coaxial speakers installed.
Entry 2
The rear behind the back seats is being prepped for the JL Audio Stealthboxes. They are bolted into place to become a fixture in the vehicle. Each enclosure holds one 13TW5 suwboofer.
Entry 3
The front seats have been removed to run wiring and install the amplifiers. The HD900/5 will be under the passanger seat and power the truck's audio system. The HD600/4 will be under the driver seat and will power the subwoofer and speakers for the exterior sound system. The factory stereo has been removed from the dash and wiring is run for the amplifiers.
Entry 4
The amplifers are installed under the front seats and the crossovers are connected, waiting to be adjusted after the system is tuned. Under the driver seat is a HD600/4 amplifier to power the speakers in the truck bed. Under the passanger seat is an HD900/5 that will power the interior system, including the front and rear doors, as well as the subwoofers.
Entry 5
The rear speakers and subwoofers are in place and the truck is being put back together.
Entry 6
The truck bed speakers are being built in a portable enclosure to be easily moved when needed. They are JL Audio Marine 7.7" coaxial speakers and a JL Audio Marine 10" subwoofer. The box has a quick disconnect for ease of wiring connections and heavy duty handles to lift. We used marine equipment for their environment in the truck bed and for their ability to disburse sound at a greater distance that traditional car speakers.
Entry 7 -
We finished the Tundra today. The system sounds amazing. Two JL Audio 13TW5's will really pound. The bed system impressed us even more. The sound carries incredibly far. We walked to the block behind out building and could still hear the truck playing in our intallation bay. The great part was that it didn't seem incredibly loud next to the truck. The way the speakres load in the bed of the truck with the cover over the bed, it projects very far. Overall, it was a fun build and came out great.
